A self-alloyed and multifunctional weather control unit to pair with your home automation box!
Z-Weather is the very first self-alloying Z-Wave probe. Not using batteries, this multifunction sensor therefore requires minimal maintenance. Thanks to intelligent energy management and an internal capacitor, the Z-Weather station can transmit its measurements even during the night!
The internal energy manager automatically calculates and sets the wake-up interval between 5 minutes (on sunny days) and 1-2 hours or at the beginning of the day, on cloudy days. In addition, energy management is protected against full discharge and thus allows continuous operation for reports of gusts of wind, storm or twilight, in case of emergency.
This multifunction sensor is able to measure and send different values via the Z-Wave protocol to the controller or home automation box:
- Air temperature
- Relative humidity
- Luminous intensity
- Wind speed
- Air pressure
- Dew point
In addition, Z-Weather can help you in the decision to install solar panels or a wind turbine by giving you an estimate of the yield. Z-Weather samples the energy delivered by the solar cell. The measurement is standardized to a solar cell of 1 square meter and reported with 16% efficiency in kWh. To calculate the wind yield, each eighth rotation is counted and the total sum is reported as Pulse.
Thanks to Z-Weather, you can trigger the closing of the awning and blinds, either by direct associations with devices or scenes. Ambient light measurements and solar yield can be used to turn on outdoor light at dusk time and turn off the light in the morning.
NB: before being able to configure or use the Z-Weather, it is necessary to carry out a full charge of the device by direct exposure to the sun (4 to 6 hours) or indirect exposure (up to 12 hours).
