NorthQ gas reader is designed to read data from magnetic or electronic meters equipped with optical ports. Its small size and its wireless external transmitter make it easy to install close to any gas meter.
NorthQ gas reader is powered by batteries (that can last for about a year) and it transmits data from the meter every 15 minutes. When there is no Z-Wave, NorthQ gas reader can save data for three months. As such, the system can even be used in a minimal configuration with a simple USB Z-Wave stick connected to a PC and which must not always be functional.

J'ai eu des difficultés à l'ajouter à mon réseau Z-wave, mais surtout à recevoir les données de consommation de manière régulière dans home assistant. Difficile de trouver une documentation claire pour la configuration des paramètres, notamment le pulse factor. Contacté, le fabricant m'a dit répondu qu'il ne supportait plus ce produit mais m'a quand même fourni une documentation "confidentielle" d'intégration. Des semaines à se battre mais avec un paramétrage à 45 (au lieu de 5 par défaut) pour le keep alive, mon home assistant reçoit des données 2-3 fois par jour (je consomme peu pour l'instant). Bref, en tout cas avec home assistant, on est très loin du plug & play....
