DFRobot was founded from a local community of makers in 2008. An early adopter of open source hardware, DFRobot helps create innovative, user-friendly hardware and software products that become the building blocks of all kinds of electronic projects, and fosters a strong community of learners around them.

After a decade, DFRobot has expanded from open source hardware to STEM education, manufacturing and other industries. The company's production lines range from Arduino, LattePanda, Raspberry Pi, micro:bit gadgets, to complete learning kits for K-12 students, such as the Boson kit, micro:Maqueen and Mind Plus series.
